From roots in Women's Studies

University of Utah, 1996 and direct entry midwifery, I entered the field of psychiatry to extend my work with people in deeply formative processes. I studied at Yale School of Nursing (2005) with training at the Personality Disorder Institute At New York Presbyterian University. As a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner practicing in Salt Lake City, Utah since 2007, I have had the privilege of being a part of the healing journeys of hundreds of clients. In prescribing psychiatric medication, my goal is to help clients achieve the stability they need to make full use of psychotherapy--learning to understand themselves better and cultivating healthy practices that will lead to fuller, more meaningful lives. As a psychotherapist, I work to understand the difficulties facing a client by first understanding how the person experiences themselves, their relationships, their body, and the world. I am steeped in psychoanalytic/psychodynamic training as well as in Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, and Embodiment-Focused approaches. I am also a Sexologist Diplomate certified by the American Board of Sexology. I specialize in issues facing LGBTQIA+ individuals, couples, families, and constellations as well as in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy.
