Join the team!

Hi, I’m Misty Newman, CMHC. I’m the owner of Mountain Valley Counseling and am currently building my team of mental health therapists. I have fully furnished, beautiful, newly remodeled offices in South Jordan and Park City. While I hope to continue to grow both within the state of Utah and outside of Utah, I never want to grow so big that I lose the intimate feel, integrity and one-on-one support of a small group practice. I value having a strong clinical supervision team. We offer quality supervision and pride ourselves on being regularly available to clinical staff with questions and concerns. I support the ability to do some or all work with clients virtually. Providing a flexible, autonomous and supportive work environment is extremely important to me.

I am looking for someone that is passionate about being a therapist and the field of mental health. I foster the space to develop a niche or specialization. I am looking for therapist(s) who value self-care and boundaries and see both as integral to sustaining the work as a mental health professional. As a result, I offer paid time off and encourage you to take it to avoid burnout. At Mountain Valley Counseling, I want to hire therapists who are open to learning and have the ability to be self-reflective regardless of theoretical orientation or years of experience in the field. I accept both provisionally licensed and fully licensed therapists. My administrative staff is awesome and helps with our billing processes. They can also facilitate getting paneled with insurance companies once you are independently licensed.

What sets my office apart from others is the culture of flexibility and autonomy and quality supervision provided. I am not a micromanager. I don’t require evening or weekend hours, but you can work during those times if that works best for you and your lifestyle/schedule. Work whenever you want and wherever you want! Being able to work comfortably and effectively with telehealth considered a benefit. I just ask for a minimum of 15 direct client hours per week. I offer very competitive pay, paid time off as well as a strong health care benefit package with retirement options. I also offer a yearly CE stipend. I am trained as a psychodynamic, object relations and attachment theory therapist and use those modalities to inform my supervision and conceptualization of clinical cases. While intervention and skill building with clients can be helpful and certainly utilized in my supervision when the treatment calls for it, my supervision strongly focuses on transference, countertransference and unconscious processes. I value insight for the client/patient and the treating clinician. I see clincial utility in conceptualizing clients on a deeper level. I appreciate clinicians that can be open to understanding their own process and how that impacts the work they are doing with their clients/patients.

I am looking for someone who is skilled in working with including, but not limited to any of the following areas:
